From the coast of the Pacific Ocean, through mangrove forests to the tropical rainforests of Costa Rica - watch the primeval forest unfold in front of your eyes with the documentary “World Natural Heritage Site Guanacaste” and meet iguanas, venomous snakes and capuchin monkeys. The highlight of our expedition to the tropical rainforest of Costa Rica, is the encounter with one of the world’s last primitive, indigenous races. The Maleku Indians have lived in the rainforest in harmony with nature for centuries and maintain their traditions until today. In 1999, UNESCO declared Guanacaste a World Nature Heritage Site. It comprises the national parks of Santa Rosa, Gunacaste and the Rincion de la Vieja. This region of 100,000 hectares ranges from the Pacific coast via the roughly 200-metre-tall mountains of the interior to the lowlands facing the Caribbean.
